  • You must be replacing an existing gas hot water system.
  • The new heat pump must be an approved product under both VEU and Solar Victoria.

  • Your combined household income is under $210,000 (Solar Victoria requirement).

Reverse Cycle Heating & Cooling

To qualify for the Victorian rebates when upgrading to a reverse-cycle system:

  • You must be replacing an existing gas heater (either a gas wall heater or gas ducted heating).

  • You are upgrading to an energy-efficient electric reverse-cycle system. This can be a single split, multi-split, or ducted reverse-cycle system (yes, ducted heats and cools through the same unit).

  • The home must be in Victoria and built more than 2 years ago.
  • The new system must be an approved product under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.
  • Installation must be completed by a licensed installer, with all required VBA & COES compliance certificates and documentation. (That’s us.)
  • One rebate applies per system, but multiple rebates can apply if you are replacing multiple gas heaters in the home.

Rebate amounts vary depending on:

  • Whether your current heater is a gas wall heater or gas ducted heater.
  • The size, brand, model and type of the new reverse-cycle system being installed.

The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) rebates are based on VEECs (Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates), which change in value weekly, similar to a share price.
